DOG-Congresses Announcement DOG-Congress 2009
"Lifelong good vision - because eye doctors research, teach, heal, and help" September 24 - 27, 2009
Dear Colleagues, Current diagnostic strategies and therapeutic concepts that enable many people to attain life-long good vision will be discussed. As always, the entire spectrum of ophthalmology shall be represented. Particular emphasis will be placed on the prevention of ophthalmologic diseases, the clinical application of new diagnostic and therapeutic options, and the dissemination of fundamental scientific findings. Ophthalmologists have been persistent in pursuing refinement in knowledge, skills, and technology to confront blindness and safeguard eye health. Patient organizations will again have an opportunity to demonstrate their work. Our combined efforts will help educate and sensitize the general public and political institutions about ocular disease and blindness. The international orientation of the DOG and its congress is underscored by the participation of numerous international speakers, guests, and both European and non-European ophthalmologic societies that have traditional ties with the DOG. The congress will provide a framework for lively, intensive, and diverse exchanges. It is a chance for generalists in ophthalmology and subspecialists in every field to learn from one another and to maintain a central commitment to ophthalmology as a specialty. The industry supports the congress through participation in the exhibition and satellite sessions. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunity to both socialize and enjoy cultural events. The year 2009 marks the 600th anniversary of the founding of the University of Leipzig. Twenty years after the fall of the Wall, the DOG Congress shall be held for the third time since 1932 and 1991 in the renowned trade-fair city of Leipzig. Come experience the exciting and latest innovations in our field. The German Ophthalmological Society is looking forward to welcoming you to the 107th Annual Congress 2009 in Leipzig! Prof. Dr. med. Peter Wiedemann |
